Thomas Thune Andersen

Thomas Thune Andersen, born in 1955, began his career with A.P. Moller - Maersk as a shipping trainee in 1977 and has since worked in a number of different divisions throughout the Group.

Mr Thune Andersen has been Managing Director for Maersk Company Ltd as well as Executive Vice President of A.P. Moller - Maersk and President of Maersk Contractors. He was promoted to President and CEO of Maersk Inc. in July 2001, based in New Jersey, USA with responsibility for activities in North America, Central America and the Caribbean.

Thomas Thune Andersen has a Graduate Diploma in Foreign Relations (HD) from Copenhagen Business School. He has also studied at Columbia and Harvard Universities.

Mr Andersen is Partner and a member of the Group’s Executive Board and was appointed CEO of Mærsk Olie og Gas AS (Maersk Oil) in 2004. He is currently Director or Chairman of a number of companies within the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group and also serves on a number of Boards outside the Group.

Mr Andersen is a Freeman of the City of London.
