Shipping - Ship Owning

The ship owning department of The Maersk Company Limited is based in our London office. As a ship owner we are responsible for the safe manning, safe operation, and constant and thorough maintenance of all of our UK flagged vessels.

In addition to the normal day-to-day operation of the vessels, the division is also heavily involved in the sale and purchase of vessels. This includes the purchase of new builds as part of our fleet renewal process.

As part of our ship owning activities, we oversee the International Safety Management (ISM) of our fleet from our offices based in Newcastle. It is through this activity that we demonstrate our enduring commitment to the highest standards of safety, security and most importantly people management, across our fleet.
