Maersk Line Wins 'Shipping Line of the Year' at the Export & Freight Transport and Logistics Awards 2007Belfast, 14 September 2007. Maersk Line is proud to announce that it has been awarded the prestigious ‘Shipping Line of the Year’ title at the annual Export & Freight Transport & Logistics Awards held at the Ramada Hotel in Belfast. There were a record number of entries for the 15 separate categories in this year’s All Ireland event, staged by Hillsborough-based Export & Freight publishers 4SquareMedia to recognise the best in the industry. Maersk has had roots in Ireland since 1976. Its Belfast office is fully integrated into its global network, and has full visibility of all shipments wherever and whenever they are booked – last year, for example, the company handled 3,600 TEU that neither originated from nor arrived into the UK – but it was all controlled and managed through the Belfast office! This is the sixth year of the awards, with the event having grown year on year in both prestige and importance; indeed, it is now recognised as the premier awards event for the transport and logistics industry throughout Ireland, with companies across the island competing for one of the coveted titles. Export & Freight is the leading specialist magazine for the Irish transport industry. It was established more than 30 years ago and is published seven times a year by 4Square Media, who also produce Sustainable Ireland, a magazine for the waste management, energy and environment sectors, and Plant & Civil Engineer, for the Irish plant, construction and quarry markets. ~ ENDS ~ |
